Skylar Grey keeps her promise and releases another October single.
“Sideways” has a different flavour from her recent “Fucking Crazy” but bears the signature mark of her melodic consistency.
In a short comment to the new single, Skylar compares it to a track off her 2016 album “Natural Causes” and connects this resemblance to Jayson DeZuzio, a producer who worked both on “Natural Causes” and this song:
the song reminds me of natural causes, more specifically straight shooter when it gets to the bridge, and knowing jayson is a producer… it all makes perfect sense since he produced so much for NC.
anyway, I love the song. I love the beat so much, the bridge is my favourite part because I love how haunting it sounds, the layering of the vocals, the piano eerily in the background… so beautiful.
A video for this song is delayed at the moment as it seems like the production process is more time consuming than it was anticipated by the team:
