As promised, Skylar Grey released a new song on the first Friday of October. Above all expectations, it was accompanied by a stunning and atmospheric visual.
Skylar’s new track is much more sombre and intimate that her recent songs but it sounds epic and powerful at the same time. It is all even more impressive when you know that Skylar did all the job on the project herself – she is a songwriter, singer, producer, dancer, director, editor and a marketing executive. Full control means full responsibility and it might be exhausting, she admits. But the result is worth it as long as people can connect to her art.
Skylar left a message on her Instagram account:
From writing and singing to producing “Fucking Crazy” 100% myself, to the fashion styling and glam, to directing the video to editing the video until 5am two nights in a row, now to promoting everything… this release has taken every ounce of my energy and I’m exhausted… but proud.
I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for listening to the song or watching the video… it literally means the world to me.
And an extra special thanks goes out to the people who feel compelled to share it. My dream has always been for my art to be experienced by as many people as possible, and you are helping me chase that dream, one repost at a time. I am so grateful.
