Through his 70-years long career, the former national evening news anchor Dan Rather reported on President Kennedy assassination, Nixon’s Watergate scandal, and everything that happened in the 1980s-1990s.
Now he moved to the cable channel AXS TV, where he spearheads several news programmes, alongside The Big Interview with Dan Rather, in which he conducts long-form interviews with musicians and other entertainers.
The most recent season 9 filmed his Zoom interviews with Adam “Ad-Rock” Rock Horwitz [Beastie Boys] and his wife Kathleen Hanna [of Bikini Kill], Lady A and others. However, Dan Rather has something in mind. When asked by TV Insider who is on his interview wishlist, he answers:
Eminem. Number one, he has been very successful for a very long time. Number two, he doesn’t do very many interviews. He’s very hard to get. Third, he’s an intriguing character with a really good story to tell.
