No hour-long reel of outtakes here, just 20 seconds of pure Eminem gold as he lets loose on a puppet alligator and cracks up the crew.
New Netflix Happy Gilmore 2 promo is built on Eminem’s footage. It is tragically short, but it is enough to notice that Em was fully in character and having a blast on set. There is no extended reel of outtakes (yet), but what we do get is pure Shady: unfiltered, unscripted, and hilarious.
Facing off with a puppet alligator, Em unleashes a string of improvised lines that had the crew cracking up. “What do you want? Come on, fake-ass dinosaur. You ain’t got a dick!” he fires off at the gator. Then he follows up with: “Put some respect on my name, bitch!”, before grabbing the puppet’s snout and yelling straight into its teeth: “Fuck you!”
Even lying in a muddy ditch, the energy does not stop. “I’ll get some Advil, I’ll be back in 20 minutes”, he proclaims, soaking wet but still going full comedy mode.
It is exactly the kind of off-the-cuff brilliance that only Eminem could bring to a Sandler comedy. With fans already quoting the gator burns, let us hope there will be more footage lifted from the cutting room floor.
