True masked singer from a heavy metal band Slipknot has never denied that he would like to collab with Marshall.

They have a lot in common – difficult childhood that affected the way they see the world, appreciation for classic horror movies, the understanding of how to work shock value to propel their more serious ideas, and compelling stage presence.

Stand-up comedian Bert Kreischer noticed that and was interested in how Corey Taylor, who visited his podcast recently, felt about that:

Bert: You were already successful when Eminem came out. Did you ever feel like, and I know it’s different genres, but I know that you kind of float genres a little bit, did you feel like kinship to him? Like going, “Oh, you grew up poor, I grew up poor. You made it out, I made it out”?..

Corey: Oh, yeah. I’m a massive, massive Em fan. And the thing is, I loved anybody from the Midwest because I still considered Michigan like the Midwest. I love anybody from the Midwest who made it, you know. So not only was I into Eminem but I was also into Prince because Prince was Minneapolis. So to me, that was like the Grail. Especially knowing his background. I was like, “Dude, it’s like looking in a fucking mirror sometimes, it’s crazy”.

The affinity Corey feels with Eminem is strong, and back in 2016 he mentioned how much he would like to connect with Marshall:

I would love to do something with Eminem. I would love to trade some stuff back and forth with him because I love the way he writes and the way he flows and the attitude; you know, the emotion that’s in it. And I’m very, very attracted to that. And I would love to do something where we kind of go back and forth. Will it ever happen? Probably not. But, you know, it’s still a dream.

Maybe his dream will come true someday, we know that Marshall can make any combination work magic on his tracks.
