The singer-songwriter needed two weeks to process the heartfelt praise that Em gave her in his recent interview. Because this is a big one.

Discussing their most recent collaboration on the “Music To Be Murdered By: Side B” opener “Black Magic”, Marshall saidon the Shade45 New Year’s Eve Special:

I’ve had the privilege of working around a lot of fucking talents. It’s still crazy to me sometimes when I’m working with Dre, and I’m looking at Dre like, “You’re fucking Dr. Dre”. The Skylar is one of.., she’s definitely…, she has to be…, I don’t know how to say that! “Top 5 of the most talented people I’ve ever worked with”? But I’ve worked with so many talented people. But the rate of speed that she works at… A) being able to write it, and b) being able to sing it and to sing it that powerful… She’s an amazing talent. She wears a lot of different hats. She’s able to approach songs from the angels that I didn’t see coming.
Фnd also hit notes that I’m like, “What the fuck?! I didn’t expect it to go there!” And then it’s like, it was weird to me, and then the second time I hear it — I love it. She’s amazing, and her talent level is off the charts.

Seems like Skylar, who always shouts out back to Em, was stunned by the weight of this recognition. She put her response to Eminem into three tweets:

I am extremely humbled by the words mister Mathers speaks in the recent interview he did with
@Shade45. Part of me is embarrassed for reposting this (see tweet below to listen), because it’s such a flex and that’s not usually my style! 😝 But a bigger part of me wants to scream at the top of my lungs, “I DID IT!” There is no more feeling more fulfilling than for the people you admire most to show you this kind of respect… to me THIS is “making it,” THIS is success in the music industry… …and THIS is my Grammy. I don’t need any trophies… the rap god has given me something MUCH more valuable. And I feel so incredibly blessed and grateful.
