“8 Mile” was released in the US on November 8, 2002. Until this day it remains the most important hip hop movie in history.

Inspired by Marshall’s personal story and built on a unique Detroit experience, as well as a universal struggle with poverty and inequality, the movie resonates with millions of viewers around the world.

“8 Mile” opened at No. 1 in the US with $51.3 million grossed in its opening weekend and proceeded to raise a total of $242.9 million globally.

It spawned a successful soundtrack, an Oscar-winning single and, surprisingly, Marshall’s restaurant. He started organising the “Mom’s Spaghetti” pop-ups years ago, but in 2022, his idea of comforting Detroit food found a home in the city downtown.

Now, New Yorkers can get a taste at the special anniversary event. A 9-Day pop-up at 131 Greene Street with the exclusive merch, hot spaghetti, and “8 Mile” movie experiences will be available in Soho, reports the Shady Records official website.

It will be the first such occasion in New York and Eminem put a promo on his social media. It even sparked speculations that Marshall can visit the event personally.
