After a temporary holdout, Eminem’s music is officially back on TikTok thanks to a new deal between Universal Music Group and the platform.

Earlier this year, UMG and TikTok hit a snag in negotiations over artist compensation and AI use. This resulted in a three-month absence of UMG artists, including Eminem, from the platform. The fallout also affected such A-list artists as Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, SZA, The Weeknd, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar.

Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed, and both parties reached a “multi-dimensional licensing agreement”. This means fairer compensation for artists like Eminem, while fans get to unleash their creativity with a massive music library at their disposal.

Remember the wild resurgence of “Mockingbird” after it blew up on TikTok? This is a prime example of how the platform can launch songs (or relaunch them, in Em’s case) into the stratosphere. With his music back on the platform, who knows what Shady banger might be next for a TikTok takeover?
