On his new song, Eminem fires, arguably, the most respectful and diplomatic diss ever.
Prompted, most probably, by recent Snoop’s remarks that disregarded Marshall’s abilities and credited Dr. Dre for his success. Snoop said at “The Breakfast Club”:
His statement provoked a strong reaction among the audience but Snoop only doubled down on this opinion.
Marshall kept silent, but now we know that he felt betrayed, mostly because he considered Snoop Dogg to be one of his friends, one from his camp.
On “Zeus”, the song that is so fully packed with content and fire that it seems to become the audience favourite, Eminem raps:
And, as far as squashin’ beef, I’m used to people knockin’ me
But, just not in my camp
I’m diplomatic, ’cause I’m tryna be —
Last thing I need is Snoop-doggin’ me
Man, dog, you was like a damn god to me
Man, not really
I had “dog” backwardsWith his sentiment made apparent, Eminem here remains respectful even if his disappointment, and it takes quite a talent and lyrical control.
