On “Zeus” Eminem admits his wrongdoings and sends apologies to Rihanna.

His remorse is caused by the unreleased song “Things Get Worse” that was leaked earlier this year. In that song, written from the perspective of his adopted personality that does not really stick to any societal norms, Slim Shady commented on the case of Chris Brown being physically violent against Rihanna and sided with the abuser.

This song was not meant for public consumption and still became available, causing distress to many who did not want to see Marshall enabling violence against women.

Rihanna did not make any comments, and still, now we know that Marshall felt uneasy about that incident and did what he felt important about it: publicly apologised on his song.

There are lines on “Zeus”, released today on M2BMB:

And wholeheartedly, apologies, Rihanna
For that song that leaked, I’m sorry, Ri
It wasn’t meant to cause you grief
Regardless, it was wrong of me.

The growth behind these words is admirable, and hopefully, Rihanna will see it.
