KXNG Crooked interviewed the Bay area rapper after their recent collaboration and learned more about her appreciation of lyricism.
Crooked recorded a feature for Ranna’s single “Wordplay” earlier this year, and now he has it followed up with a short interview session. The rap connoisseur has conducted the finest of conversations with the top legends of the game like Rakim, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and many others. It’s been a while since KXNG held the mic for somebody else, so it was interesting to see how he could keep the flow of conversation with a very different subject.
However different these two might be, they have one thing in common – they appreciate lyricism, wordplay and wordcraft. So obviously, Crook’s asked Ranna about lyrical people she appreciates the most, whom she puts in her top 3. Ranna’s answer was well informed by the context:
You’re on there, you’re on the top 3. He’s on my top 3 because he’s a fucking lyrical murderer. He doesn’t repeat like the same four bars in auto-tune. He actually rhymes fucking sentences. This is what hip hop was built on. Eminem. 100%. Marshall’s entertaining and fucking dope. Some of their lyrical females are actually dope right now. Sa-Roc is dope, Che’ Noir is dope, Rhapsody is dope. I have to give flowers because there are lyrical female artists out there, and they are just killing it.
