That night, instead of a new song, “Tobey”, announced in advance, Eminem dropped a new album release date and a video teaser. As always, there is more left behind the scenes.
The teaser dropped, showing something that might or might not be an album cover art and a release date.
Following the reveal, Christopher Probst, ASC, Los Angeles-based director of photography who has been working on several Eminem projects, including the most recent, “Houdini”, posted a little bit more information about the video on his Instagram stories. He wrote:
A little bonus video trailer from our Houdini video for Eminem just dropped… No, it wasn’t just a couple of shots for the music video, we actually shot a whole short film teaser for the Death of Slim Shady album! This was all shot on the Synapse_VP virtual production stage. Crazy what you can achieve with a few props and even fewer crew!
It is not entirely clear whether Eminem’s recent promo presented a complete short film teaser or whether there is still more to expect from “The Death of Slom Shady” promo campaign, which has already proven to be a riddle.
