Even with no new release this year, Eminem racked up over 7 million lyric views on Genius in Q2, more than any other artist.

Genius published a breakdown of their pageviews in the second quarter of the year, and it makes an interesting read, revealing listening trends and habits of the younger generation, together with the names that capture the audience’s attention this year.

Despite streaming services adding about 100,000 new songs every single day, music fans still love a good throwback. Catalogue music, tracks released more than 18 months ago, made up a huge 72.6% of all US album streams in 2024. And on Genius, some classics are pulling in massive numbers.

Radiohead’s “Creep” landed at No.1 in the legacy segment this quarter with 1.3 million views, while Phil Collins’ “You’ll Be in My Heart” pulled in over 700,000. Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” also ranked at No.2 with 767,000 views over this period.

This result puts “Lose Yourself” at No.6 within the Q2 Top 10 Songs list on Genius, a list that mainly consists of hot hits that draw the most public attention. Well, those and the song, whose meaning is so deep that people keep coming to read it as poetry.

But Marshall’s dominance goes way beyond one song. His entire catalogue helped him secure the top artist spot for Q2 on Genius with over 7 million lyric views, even though his last album dropped a year ago. Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and Kanye West followed far behind.

Over 25 years in, Eminem is still reaching for new heights, with a grip on the mic that never loosens.
