18 years after its release, Eminem’s iconic song is charting at No.8 on iTunes in the US.

Maybe, the Oscars weekend gave a little boost to the song sales. “Lose Yourself” is the first-ever hip hop song to receive the Academy Award as the best original song for a movie, and perhaps many people feel nostalgic during the Oscars season this year.

However, this explanation doesn’t cover the trend, as “Lose Yourself” was already at No.12 before the Oscars. Eminem and his music are at the centre of public attention. YouTube reviewers discover his songs, TikTok trends rely on his beats, young artists credit Eminem as their inspiration. The steadily growing interest in Eminem’s music from the younger generation results in his classics rising on the charts.

Enough to say that No.8 is the highest position on US iTunes that “Lose Yourself” reached after it went atop of iTunes last year after Eminem’s Oscar performance. The song debuted at No.92 on September 13 in 2016.

We’ll keep an eye on the charts while you can revise “Lose Youself” with this unofficial video with over 1 billion views on YouTube:
