The “Infinite” 25th anniversary next year makes Marshall eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
A special committee selects a number of candidates from the most influential musicians, bands, producers, and others that have in some major way influenced the music industry, particularly in the area of rock and roll.
Other areas, however, are represented in the Ohio institution as well. Maddy Water and Nina Simone are there not only to acknowledge the jazz and blues roots of rock and roll but simply because they have changed the face of the music industry we know.
For the same reason, the Hall has started recently admitting hip hop legends. In 2007 Jay-Z inducted Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This year Hov got his own place in the Hall, next to Public Enemy inducted in 2013, N.W.A (2016), Tupac Shakur (2017) and The Notorious B.I.G. (2020).
Recently, music journalist and radio host Eric Alper published the list of artists who can have their shot at the prestigious symbolic award in 2022:
Artists eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022:

Dropkick Murphys

Trans-Siberian Orchestra— Eric Alper 🎧 (@ThatEricAlper) June 22, 2021
It is not a list of prospective candidates by any means. While all of them technically is now eligible to become a new inductee, the Rock Hall has a notoriously long backlog of artists who still have not got their recognition.
