Jay Z holds a lot of respect and power in the hip-hop world and to be publicly recognised by him means a lot. He gave his appreciative nod to artists who did good this year by including them in his public playlist on his own streaming platform.

Surely, he follows the trends and notices big hits, but he also is not afraid of demonstrating his own taste and giving a platform to less mainstream musicians on the rise. It means there are not only Beyoncé and DaBaby on his 40 tracks list. He also included Griselda records, to be precise, three tracks: “Dr. Birds’s” and “Tito’s back” from Griselda’s Shady Records debut “WWCD” and “Lucha Bros” recorded with Benny the Butcher and released by Westside Gunn on “HWH7” mixtape.
