17 Years ago this week Eminem Signed 50 Cent to Shady Records and the rest was history. Here we take a look back at some of our favourite features between the two.
2003 Patiently Waiting (feat. Eminem) (GRODT)
Possibly the greatest collaboration between the two of them. Despite it never being officially released as a single and years before streaming services this song reached 56 on the Hot 100. Pretty impressive. But to be honest Em & 50 were the biggest stars on the globe at this time.
2003 Don’t Push Me (feat.Eminem & Lloyd Banks) (GRODT)
Most people will remember Patiently Waiting which was a phenomenal song from GRODT. But here we’re taking a look at Don’t Push Me. Here Em goes in hard. A powerful verse recorded during The Eminem Show sessions shows that he’s more hungry than ever. “You wanna see Marshall? I’ll show you Martial, I try to show you art, but you just pick it a part”. One of Eminem’s best but maybe underrated verses of his career.
2004 Never Enough (feat. 50 Cent & Nate Dogg) (Encore)
Encore is maybe not regarded as one of Em’s best albums. However there are a few gems on this project. None other than Never Enough featuring 50 & Nate Dogg. Similar to “Like Toy Soldiers” this song serves as a comment on Rap feuds involving Shady/Aftermath & Muder Inc/Benzino. Neither Em or 50 aimed any shots at them but merely elaborating on rap battles in general.
2009 Psycho (feat. Eminem) (Before I Self Destruct)
A psychotic collaboration here. Eminem fresh off the release of Relapse and back into the spotlight after his mini hiatus and still in the Serial Killer Relapse vibes.
2012 My Life (feat Eminem & Adam Levine)
My Life was produced by S1. The Single peaked at 27 on the Hot 100 as well as storming the UK charts at number 2. In this song 50 takes shots at Game & Young Buck claiming they can’t make hits no more as 50 ain’t writing them. Shots fired. Believe it or not this was the last time Em & 50 collaborated with each other.
2019 Remember The Name (feat. Eminem & 50 Cent) (No.6 Collaborations Project)
7 years after My Life the pair are set to join up with Ed Sheeran for this joint. However we have to wait until the 12th of July for this one.
Finally honourable shoutouts to…
