Conway released his exceptional mixtape to showcase his abilities and let the fans to brace themselves before the arrival of his Shady Record debut.
Earlier this year Conway said in a statement for the press:
I wanted to showcase versatility and show people that I’m not a one trick pony. I feel like this album is not only arguably one of my best albums ever, but it is also the perfect appetizer to get my fans ready for my Shady Records debut “God Don’t Make Mistakes”.
The level Conway the Machine has achieved already seems difficult to surpass. Backed up with the likes of Method Man, Lloyd Banks, Freddie Gibbs, Def Loaf and his blood and soul family Benny The Butcher and Westside Gunn, Conway relentless lyrical attack over deceptively complex beats is haunting.
The release also signifies the new era of independence for Conway who is credited as an executive producer alongside Westside Gunn and who was in full control over his project. Conway wrote on Twitter:
And I just wanna thank myself, I bought the studio outta my own pocket, recorded myself, paid for everything myself, did all the business myself… I’m super proud of this album and I hope the people fuckin wit me
