50 cent is not just celebrating his first Emmy award for the Super Bowl Halftime show performance. He uses the opportunity to twist the knife in The Game’s wounded pride.
Game was famously offended by not being invited to take part in Dr. Dre’s groundbreaking hip hop Super Bowl performance. To see Fifty as a surprise guest on stage was even worse. He talked about it, he recorded videos about it, and he shaded Fif at any opportunity.
50 Cent, meanwhile, was just going on with his life laughing. It is easy to do when you that Eminem has your back. And Eminem does have his back. As Snoop Dogg revealed in his interview, Marshall refused to go on stage without his protege:
I hit the homie, the big homie, Jay-Z. And I told him to come pull up on me, and he pulled up on me. I had to ask somebody straight up. And he said, “The white guy called for it, for 50 Cent”. So I said, “Who’s the white guy? Jimmy Iovine?” He said, “No, Eminem. Eminem called directly for Fifty. And he said, “I can’t do it if I can’t bring Fifty out”
So now, all performers of this year’s Super Bowl halftime show are officially Emmy winners, and 50 cent takes to Instagram to rub it in and remind The Game not only about this missed opportunity but also about offensively low sales of The Game’s latest album:
Oh no, 😕i’m sorry you don’t get one 🏆. Then the first week 18k, if you need someone to talk to i’m here for you. LOL
