He may have taken Europe by storm at Euro 2024, but young Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal proves superstars have relatable taste in tunes.

In a recent interview with GQ Spain, Yamal shared some of his pre-game rituals, revealing a surprising musical influence – none other than Slim Shady himself.

Turns out, the youngest goal scorer in Euros history uses his Beats headphones for more than just bumping tunes. “I use them to listen to music and concentrate in the field,” Yamal explained. Music seems to be a constant companion, from waking up to chilling with teammates. “When I’m in the locker room, and when I want to focus before a game, I use the Beats”.

But Yamal’s playlist isn’t all about getting pumped. For late-night hangs with friends, the young forward opts for the Latin flavour of Mora, Dei V, and Myke Towers. On the other hand, when it’s bonding time with Dad, the vibe switches to a more old-school sound. Yamal revealed:

With my dad we usually listen to Eminem and 50 Cent.

Looks like even 16-year-old Euro football players can appreciate the lyrical genius of Eminem.

Clearly, Eminem’s powerful lyrics and beats have found a place in the life of this young athlete, who was instrumental in leading Spain to the Euro ’24 finals. It serves Lamine as a source of motivation and connection. And with a new album around the corner – it might serve him as a source of inspiration as well.
