Just like a year ago, Eminem is the only rapper in the Top 10 Vevo artists across the globe.
Vevo is an American multinational video hosting service best known for providing music videos to YouTube. And we have been following Marshall’s undisputed leadership in streaming music videos on YouTube month after month. So, for an informed Em’s fan, this information doesn’t come as a surprise. Nevertheless, the official confirmation is always welcome and helps disprove a false narrative about Eminem’s decreasing popularity.
Admittedly, his yearly gains are not as dramatic as, for instance, Karol G’s, who remains atop the list with two more billion views than in the previous year. Marshall’s increase does not exceed a million. However, he certainly didn’t fall off the Top 10, as, let’s say, Justin Bieber or J Balvin, who has left the ranking whatsoever. Also, we know that there was not a single new video with Em released since January 23 2021, when he dropped “Higher”. Okay, maybe you can include the recording of Eminem’s performance of “From The D 2 The LBC” with Snoop Dogg at the 2022 VMAs, which is not technically a music video per se.
Yet still, Eminem has gained 1.8 billion views this year, and it was enough for him to occupy No.6 on the ranking of the most streamed globally Vevo artists across all genres in 2023. Here is the list:
1. Karol G — 4.7 billion
2. Shakira — 3.2 billion
3. Taylor Swift — 3 billion
4. The Weeknd — 2.5 billion
5. Feid — 2.2 billion
6. Eminem — 1.8 billion
7. Romeo Santos — 1.6 billion
8. Imagine Dragons — 1.5 billion
9. Rihanna — 1.4 billion
10. Chris Brown — 1.4 billion
