During an interview with HipHopDX The Game recalled how Eminem worked on “We Ain’t” verse for Game’s 2005 debut The Documentary. According to Game, Em did not just throw a verse and left, he was thinking about the record as a whole, he wanted Game to see how his verse fit into the picture and showed Game respect as a fellow rapper. It does not look like Game understood and appreciated this gesture:

Eminem was more concerned about it being my record, he wanted it to be structured the way I wanted it, and he wanted to make sure… Yo, Eminem asked me what I thought about his verse. That was crazy. I mean, what the fuck I was supposed to say? Even if it was fucking wack I was gonna say like, yeah, that was fucking classic. But it’s Em and it’s like why are you asking me how I feel about the verse?

Something similar happened to Game only once, when Nas, who spent hours and hours writing a verse for The Game’s “Doctor’s Advocate”, asked about his opinion on it. The Game clearly does not understand how the stars that big as Nas and Eminem are concerned with what he thinks about that:

You’re fucking nuts, bro! If it didn’t work for me it’s gonna work for them!

Well, you know, it’s called striving to perfection. That’s why they are way bigger than almost everyone else in the game.
