This isn’t a tale of an unexpected hip hop tour in the Scottish Highlands; it’s a heartwarming story about wildlife conservation.

Blair Drummond Safari Park located near Stirling, Scotland, UK is dedicated to safeguarding some of the world’s most endangered species and provides specialized care for over 300 animals, many of which are at risk in their natural habitats. Among their residents are Cardi B and Biggie, a pair of meerkats who recently became parents for the first time in the park after a five-year hiatus in meerkat births. The young meerkats spent weeks sheltered in their burrow, nurtured by their vigilant parents, before finally emerging into the world.

In keeping with tradition, the park’s animal handlers decided to name the pups after some of the biggest hip hop stars on the planet. Thus, the young meerkats were christened Busta, Missy, and Emmie (a shortened version of Eminem).

Carolyn Booth, the Pets Farm Team Leader, said to the Daily Mail, “As the pups begin to explore their surroundings, we can see that they are growing more confident by the day”. Naturally, as their hip hop patrons have confidence in buckets.

While many of us may fantasise about a musical collaboration between Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, and Eminem, this is as close as we’ll get for now.

You can watch these three hip hop namesakes as they embark on their adventures in the world of the Scottish Safari Park.
