With 10 No. 1 albums and 41 chart entries, Eminem stands tall in Billboard’s Top 10 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of the 21st Century recap.
Billboard has unveiled its Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of the 21st Century chart, a retrospective covering the first 25 years of the new millennium, and Eminem is firmly placed in the Top 10. The ranking is based on performance on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts from January 2000 through December 2024.
Eminem takes the No. 9 spot, standing alongside names like Drake, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, and Jay-Z. According to Billboard, his two-decade run is backed by 10 No. 1 albums and 41 songs charting on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. While “The Monster” with Rihanna gave him his lone No. 1 single on that chart, his albums have consistently dominated, with every release between 2000 and 2024 landing in the top three.
Drake leads the list at No. 1, having ruled the annual recap eight different years since his 2009 debut, while other icons like Lil Wayne, Usher, Rihanna, and Alicia Keys round out the top tier. Meanwhile, other hip hop heavyweights, such as Kendrick Lamar (No. 12), Kanye West (No. 13), Future (No. 16), Nicki Minaj (No. 17), and 50 Cent (No. 26,) also appear further down the list.
For Eminem, securing a Top 10 position in a quarter-century recap underscores the staying power of Slim Shady in hip hop’s modern history.
