On their new record, Migos MCs namedrop De Niro, Drake, Eminem and other big players.
On his verse Takeoff raps:
I keep the keys and the pounds and the babies (Keys)
And the bricks came white like Shady (White)
Drive the Lambo’ through the avenue (Skrrt)
Pretty lil bih’ with a attitude (Bad)
Give a shoutout to the white boy (Boys)
Playing on Marshall’s nickname and ethnicity the Migos rapper describes the high quality of a cocaine brick. Perhaps, Eminem should take it as a compliment. Not exactly the quality standard that J Cole played with when he shouted out to Eminem on his most recent album, but it fits into Migos universe.
And for anyone who is in doubt how to interpret this simile, Takeoff spells it out – it is a shout out, it is a respectful nod.
