One of the most recognisable Eminem’s songs hit an important milestone in the US.
On-demand streams combine plays on paid subscription-based services (such as Apple Music and Amazon Music) with plays of hybrid paid/ad-supported platforms (such as Spotify and SoundCloud) and plays on ad-supported services (such as YouTube). This category excludes plays coming from programmed services, such as Pandora radio etc. Different methodologies give different weight to plays coming from paid and unpaid sources, but whatever methodology was used to bring us this new milestone, we welcome it.
“Love The Way You Lie” has over 800 million Spotify streams and the video for the song counts over 2.2 billion views globally. So it is not that implausible to assume that over the last 11 years the song has gained over 1 billion streams generated in the US.
