While most artists work hard to boost their new records sales, there are numbers that are more difficult to control but that tell about longevity and unrelenting popularity. And they also count, sometimes even more.
According to this count, among all tracks originally released 5 and more years ago, just two sell the best in the US in 2020. It is Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and Shakira’s “Whenever, Wherever”.
While both experienced the boost in sales after recent performances – Eminem’s surprise visit to the Oscars and Shakira’s Super Bowl half-time show, – both of them show strong numbers even without these sudden surges of interest. Especially multiplatinum “Lose Yourself” – the most popular Eminem’s song on Spotify with over 800 million streams,
