Lil Uzi Vert made heads turn at Coachella with their latest merch drop: a black tee featuring Uzi’s image with the word “THEMINEM” prominently displayed.

This has the internet buzzing, with fans offering various interpretations. Some fans appreciate the humour and clever wordplay on their pronouns and Eminem’s name. Uzi has publicly used they/them pronouns since summer 2022, which adds another layer to the “THEMINEM” wording. It’s a conversation starter, for sure.

However, Uzi reportedly isn’t the biggest Eminem fan. In a past livestream, Uzi reportedly said Eminem wasn’t in their top 5 rappers and questioned his post-2003 work. So, some see this design as a cheeky cash grab rather than a tribute. And for $40 a tee in a Coachella merch booth, Uzi had to offer a selling point.

There’s no clear answer. Some fans love the design, some hate it, and others are just confused. Anyway, it’s got people talking, and that’s probably Uzi’s intention.
