The new video for Eminem’s “Higher” draws allusions to the iconic visuals released in 1991.

30 years later, Eminem echoes LL’s statement of confidence and fight-back and reinforces it visually, following imagery, aesthetics and sequences premiered in Big L’s classic.

Eminem, the same way as LL Cool J before that, is pictured standing in the boxing ring, wearing a hoodie that covers most of his face, singing into a mic while clips show him training and lifting weights.

Directed by James Larese, the new video for the track from Eminem#s most recent “Music To Be Murdered By: Side B” gives a new take on the same message and draws attention to the track that set on fire the 1990s. Eminem, who repeatedly shared his admiration to LL Cool J, took this opportunity to bring together sport and music, hip hop history and the cutting edge of modernity.
