50 Cent’s debut studio album was released on February 6, 2003.

It was a colossal breakthrough debut of a rapper who had been blackballed from the music industry. Eminem signed Fifty, produced his album, secured for him important connections. The album won over charts and hearts around the world. “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” debuted atop the Billboard 200, selling over 872,000 copies in its first week of sales. This figure warranted Fifty the place on the Top 10 Highest First Week Sales in Hip Hop list. It was the best-selling album of 2003, selling 12 million copies worldwide by the end of the year.

In 2020, the album was certified 9 x Platinum in the US. “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” has no industry awards or even nominations, but it is the album that has forever changed the hip hop landscape.
