TMZ is reporting that both Eminem and Kanye West passed on an opportunity to perform during Super Bowl week, with Em apparently asking for a $2 million payout for his services.
The report claims that the NFL Owners approached the Detroit rapper’s representatives about potentially headlining their party during the week leading up to the Super Bowl, but that his agents asked for $2 million. Kanye was also apparently approached, asking for $1 million and additional benefits or compensation. Both rappers were turned down.
Janelle Monae has been tapped instead to headline the event, with a fee in the range of $150,000. Bruno Mars is set to perform at the halftime show of the actual game, which airs February 2, 2014.
