A popular YouTube host recently shared that his top dream interview guest is none other than Eminem. While he did not reveal his full list of dream guests, Vlad made it clear that sitting down with the rap icon would be a major moment for him.
He explained to Bootleg Kev, “Me and Eminem are the same age. Me and Eminem have shared a similar experience in terms of our love for hip hop. Obviously, he’s an artist. I never went in that direction, and he became one of the biggest artists ever to do it. But in terms of the love, what led up to us pursuing these careers in hip hop, the actual love for the art form, and us both being white… I don’t think he’s ever done an interview like that with somebody where it’s just a sit-down. His interviews are very protected. If me and Em sat down for two or three hours, I think it would be the biggest thing he’s ever done, media-wise”.
DJ Vlad positioned himself as an Eminem fan, so it is perplexing that he is probably unaware of some rather long and organic interviews Eminem has done over the years. From his conversation with KXNG Crooked on Crook’s Corner to the “Kamikaze” interview with Sway Calloway, and even a long chat on national TV with Anderson Cooper, Marshall has shared a lot with fans over the years.
While Vlad might see it as a unique moment, it is fair to say that it would be the biggest one for him, not for Marshall. So, while it is fun to dream about a sit-down with Em, a reality check might be in order.
We often talk about how Eminem’s music and lyrics resonate with fans around the world and how they recognise their stories and struggles in Em’s songs. DJ Vlad took this feeling to a new level, thinking that he shares a lot of similarities with Marshall and that he is the best one to interview him.
On the other hand, we can relate, and yes, interviewing Eminem would be a dream come true for our team as well. Anyone can hope!
