Prominent battle rapper Daylyt is a long time Eminem fan, and he thinks that Em’s choice of beats in this era is holding him back.

Daylyt livestreamed a long speech about how Eminem, who has become spiritually and mentally mature, tries to fit into a modern production style that does not do justice to his artistic ability. The rapper started from bumping “Lose Yourself” in his care and singing praise to this ultimate anthem of dedication:

I’m just sitting there going through the whole Em catalogue. Em was so fire, bro. We’re talking prime Em. What Eminem does with his rhyme pattern is so amazing, bro. It’s amazing! Then I’m listening to doubles and stacks and the passion he puts in his verse. Yo, Em is so fire. Prime Em is fire, bro. I’m listening to this [“Lose Yourself”] song, and I’m thinking of the setup of that record, and as a battle rapper and a person that has stepped into any battle, I don’t just mean battle rap, I mean basketball games, sports, anything that was a moment that could shift your life, this song spoke to you. Any moment in life where you go, “Yo”. Can you imagine being a quarterback, and it’s fourth down, you are on the 20-yard line, the game is gonna be over with this last play. This record is for those moments. And I think about that all the time, like, “Yo, that’s fire!”.

The thing right now… I just when through Em’s whole catalogue, and then I went through the new catalogue, and I realise what is the problem with Em right now. Em is growing mentally, physically, spiritually. He can’t rap about the things he rapped about no more. But mainly, I’m gonna tell you, mainly what is hurting Eminem right now is beat selection. Em is trying to do what he normally does over modern beats, and he’s trying to add modern style production inside of his ability. And that’s becoming, like, when you are adding water and oil together, it just don’t mix. If Em is to get on some boom bap, some heavy boom bap shit… [Beatboxing] You feel me? I want to see this.

We need Eminem and Alchemist. We need Eminem and Dilla. We need Eminem over whoever produces for Conway [The Machine]. We need Em and them type of niggas, bro. Em will do damage if he gets back on those type of beats, bro. Em would do ultimate damage. And I’m only saying this because I want to put energy out there, and hopefully, Eminem is watching this. And hopefully, somebody related to Eminem is watching this and tell Em I said this personally. Because I’m a fan. I’ve been fucking with Eminem. At the Eminem universe, they hate me and love me because I’ve been fucking with Em so much. And I troll a lot but only because I’m a fan. That’s what fans do. Fans troll and say the opposite of how they feel. But I’m thinking if Eminem got on some bap sheet! Some super bap shit! I’m pretty sure he can do damage.
