“D12 first time performing in NY in 99. Now…I know people like stealing throwbacks that I dig up from personal pics to videos and acting like it’s theirs so I’ll give y’all a backstory for entertainment so you’ll get a feel of what was happening. Our first time performing in NY in 99 and I was nervous as HELL. I was thinking “the ink ain’t even dry on our Shady contract yet and we gotta perform here?!” We heard about NY crowds and how hard it is to win them over. Shit half of them in the crowd are artist themselves. We had this LONG ass intro that we didn’t want played but somehow it got played anyway so we were pissed! Anyway we got to performing and notice…I’m back on the right nervous like Choir Boy in The 5 Heartbeats movie but rockin like I’m cool. But then I started feeling that shit like “fuck y’all” because we was killin shit! Had to!comeout of my Boss pullover on them hoes. Our performance energy and chemistry with each musically has always been our secret weapon and strength. Anyway. We won that crowd over by the end of that performance. They even wanted a fuckin encore! We then knew we had arrived. Because if you can perform in NY and get a great response, the rest of the world is a piece of cake!”, wrote Kuniva.
