The active members of the legendary Detroit band start celebrating the 20th anniversary of “D12 World” album.
Released in spring of 2004, the album topped the charts in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. In the United States “D12 World” went on to have the best performing first-week sales for a hip hop release of that year until Eminem’s “Encore” set a new record in November later that year.
“D12 World” is the most commercially profitable and popular album of the band that included Eminem as a member and enjoyed its success years after they had their first run together in Detroit. Sadly, it is also their last album, as Proof’s tragic death made it impossible for Eminem to carry on the task.
While all band members are currently active recording and performing artists, only two of them, Kuniva and Swifty McVay continue performing under the band name and maintain its legacy. Both of them have toured recently with Snoop Dogg on his Australasian tour and now are ready to take on their own overseas adventure.
So far, D12 announced six dates of their UK tour, which looks more like England tour with one show in Wales:
December 6 – Manchester, O2 Ritz
December 7 – Birmingham, XOYO
December 8 – London, Electric Ballroom
December 9 – Bristol, SWX
December 11 – Cardiff, Tramshed
December 12 – Southampton, Engine Rooms
Supporting and opening acts are not publicised yet, and the D12 artists are open to suggestions, or at least want their fans to guess, as they say on their official Instagram account:
What artist/groups do you think will also be performing on this tour other than D12? #announcement coming soon
