It is and has been a very quiet few months for Eminem fans. Yes we’ve had the collaboration with Ed and 50, The Conway track, “Rainy Days” with Boogie and “Homicide” with Logic. But in terms of any solo projects it’s been a bit quiet.
Sure we have have had a tweet celebrating 11 years of sobriety which is phenomenal and also a SSLP20 anniversary Merchandise package. But let’s be honest it safe to say between March and August this year it has been more quiet than usual from Eminem.
Of course we still have The Abu Dhabi concert to look forward to and perhaps when Joyner Lucas gets round to releasing his album we’ll get to hear the Em and Joyner collaboration so there is some stuff to look forward to.
But I would now like to see a sign from Em and in particularly him turning his attention to the haters that have been gunning for him recently.
No I don’t mean the 21 year old Lil Pump fan on twitter who says Em is old and wack. I’m talking about Old Enemies trying to make a name for themselves yet again.
Lord Jamar came out once again claiming Em is a guest of the culture and this and that, Benzino has basically backed Jamar on his claim of “Not being part of the culture” whist throwing in a little racial slur calling him “The White Kid”. Nick Cannon has also came out and said he is “Elvis on crack” which even Joe Budden called tasteless and that Joe himself has a problem with it. Finally MGK was back trying to stay relevant with a gravestone with M&M on it reading 1972-2019.
This is now a perfect time for Eminem to come back into the public eye. I’m not asking for a full length LP, However I do believe he needs to address these idiots and shut these people up. The disrespect showed by Jamar and Benzino impartiality is nothing short of casual racism something that should not be tolerated in 2019 especially to an artist that changed the game in the early 2000s and helped Hip-Hop music hit a Worldwide audience.
The next few weeks will be interesting. Royce has already came out and backed Eminem after Vlad and Jamar’s comments I now believe it’s time we hear from the king himself. Something needs to be done to shut these irrelevant attention seeking fools.
