Two decades after its release, The Eminem Show remains Eminem’s biggest streaming success.
The album just crossed 8.3 billion lifetime plays on Spotify. It remains his most streamed album ever and the one gaining the most daily traction right now. Just this week, the 2002 classic was pulling in 5 million streams in a single day. Just a day before, it added 3.7 million new plays.
Originally released on May 26, 2002, the album came during a peak moment in Eminem’s career and was one of the most highly anticipated albums of its time. It did not disappoint. Debuting at No.1 on the Billboard 200, it held that position for six non-consecutive weeks. In the US, it moved over 1.3 million copies in its first full week alone.
It ended up being the best-selling album of 2002, both in the US and worldwide.
Now, more than 20 years later, it continues to earn new fans and rack up impressive stats. “The Eminem Show” has been certified 12x Platinum in the United States, 18x Platinum in Australia, and recently hit 9x Platinum in Denmark.
