Over two decades after its release, “The Eminem Show” has officially gone 9x Platinum in Denmark, according to the latest certification update from IFPI Denmark.
With one unit equating to either a physical/digital sale or 1,000 streams, the album has moved an impressive 180,000 units in a country of just under 6 million people.
Originally released on May 26, 2002, “The Eminem Show” was one of the most highly anticipated records of its time. It debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, where it held the top spot for six non-consecutive weeks. The album sold over 1.3 million copies in its first full week in the US alone and went on to become the best-selling album of 2002 both in the US and worldwide.
While 9x Platinum in Denmark is no small feat, the album boasts even higher tallies in other countries — 12x Platinum in the United States and 18x Platinum in Australia.
Over 20 years later, “The Eminem Show” is still in demand, and the numbers prove it.
