Curtis James Jackson III, also known as 50 Cent, celebrates his birthday today. He was 27 when Eminem signed him to Shady Records.

His album “Get Rich Or Die Tryin’” produced by Eminem and Dr. Dre catapulted Fifty to the highest success in hip hop and until today this records remains one of the best selling and most influential hip hop records.

50 Cent has never wavered in his loyalty to Eminem since, always citing Marshall as his mentor and friend. Em, in his turn, cannot praise Fifty enough, as he demonstrated in his speech at 50 Cent’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star Induction Ceremony in January:
