Detroit artist Jay Kopicki has added a colourful new landmark to Corktown with a mural celebrating Eminem’s Fortnite collaboration.

Corktown has a new splash of colour, thanks to Detroit artist Jay Kopicki and his latest mural featuring Eminem’s Fortnite collaboration. Painted on the Lucky Coffee and Detroit Barbers building on Michigan Avenue, the mural adds a vibrant splash to one of the city’s most bustling neighbourhoods.

Kopicki shared the mural on Instagram, saying:

This @eminem x @fortnite wall for @iam8bit was super fun and quick! After being on the go non-stop since the start of September it felt good to end the run with such a cool project.” He also gave thanks to Brooklyn Outdoor and J.C. Knopf Photography for helping make it happen, adding, “In lieu of all the craziness today I’m hoping these colors can brighten your timeline 😊.

Jay Kopicki runs JKO Studios, which specialises in murals, sign painting, and commissioned art around Detroit. His style, rooted in basketball, sneakers, and street culture, combines freeform creativity with the clean lines of geometry. For locals and visitors alike, this new mural is a must-see addition to Corktown’s art scene, a collaboration that bridges gaming, music, and street culture right in the heart of Detroit.
