For his new interview, Nardwuar took Tyler, the Creator to a record store with a vast collection of music memorabilia. Tyler was in his element and found many Eminem items he also had at home.

Just strolling down the aisle in Beat Street Records in Vancouver, BC, Canada, the Grammy-winning artist noticed a familiar cover on a shelf:

That issue right there, that Eminem x Dr. Dre x 50 Cent one. It’s the fourth quarter 2002. I have it at home, and in plastic, too.

On the way to the upstairs treasure room, Nardwuar reminded Tyler about their 2011 interview when he introduced the Igor rapper to an Eminem urinal matt, which will make its appearance later in this video as well.

In the room that contains the music magazines and action figures collection, the first thing Tyler noticed was The Source issue with chainsaw Eminem:

Jesus. Man, I had this. This came out right after The Marshall Mathers LP.

And that was the theme. Tyler could spot Eminem memorabilia wherever it was. When Nardwuar tried to draw his attention to a Kanye item, Tyler, the Creator moved past him to another Eminem figurine:

That Marshall one is sick.

Tyler was revelling in the atmosphere perfectly crafted for music nerds. He glided from one item to another, commenting on the time it was issued or an album it was related to. He had some scathing comments about a boxed Eminem action figure:

That “My Name Is”, that photo was in the booklet for “The Marshall Mathers LP” and “My Name Is” was the album before. So they kind of fucked up with it. That’s wrong.

Pulling out The Source magazine issues with Eminem on the cover, Tyler placed it precisely on the precipice of Benzino’s beef with Marshall:

2001. This is right before they fucked, this is right around that time. It was like, fuck y’all. So weird.

This is what Tyler, the Creator has in common with Eminem: they both are passionate students of hip hop.
