“Recovery” is Marshall’s second album to hit the milestone of 3.5 billion Spotify streams.

The project that opened a new era in Em’s story in 2010 is deeply loved by his fans and people outside of the following. Open, vulnerable, and sometimes angry Eminem is just as important for the hip hop history as his reckless alter ego, Slim Shady.

Growing streaming numbers and stable sales prove this point. The album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 741,000 copies. Two album singles, “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie” charted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2010, “Recovery” was the best selling album worldwide with over 5.7 million copies sold and the best selling album in the US with 3.4 million copies. It received a Grammy in the Best rap album category next year.

Allegedly, the album has sold over 10 million copies worldwide by now but considering that 8 million of them were certified in the US only, the total number is noticeably higher.
