Eminem Is Coming After His Haters on “Premonition”

The very first track on Eminem’s latest eleventh studio album “Music To Be Murdered By” sets the mood for the release by reflecting on the reception of his recent records and the treatment Marshall gets from media and the general public.

He recalls:

Once I was played in rotation
At every radio station
They said I’m lyrically amazing
But I have nothing to say.
But then when I put out Revival and I had something to say.

“Revival”, released in 2017, is his most political album, full of bold statements and deep concerns. It “flopped” and was considered as a weak record on which Em took a wrong turn into mainstream, while he tried to listen to his audience and respond to their expectations, collaborating, for example, with a new-age producer Tay Keith and propelling his career up to the highest.

Coming back with “Kamikaze” Eminem responded to the criticism he received and unleashed fury on mumble-rap from the very start. Just to get criticism on being bitter and mindlessly aggressive. “Kamikaze” was not meet kindly by critics and Marshall remembers that:

But Rolling Stone stars, I get two and a half outta
Five, and I’ll laugh out loud.

Of course, he does not agree with the accusations of being mean just for the sake of being mean, he has plenty of rappers he respects and he sees how media and the public do not treat them appropriately:

I wasn’t dissin’ Tech, that was not a shot at 2 Chainz or to Jay-Z
They probably feel the same way because lately
Instead of us being credited for longevity
And being able to keep it up for this long at this level, we
Get told we’ll never be what we were

He finishes this track with the powerful message stating that he is on top of the game and haters will be destroyed by what he does best, by his music:

Bitch, if I was as half as good as I was
I’m still twice as good as you’ll ever be
Only way that you’re ahead of me’s alphabetically
‘Cause if you diss me I’m coming after you like the letter V
Killing everything, play this tune, it’s your eulogy
It’s your funeral, prepare to die
This is music for you to be murdered by
