17 years after winning his Oscar, Eminem finally showed up to the ceremony and shook the audience – in the venue and across the globe. The Oscars producers can be satisfied, the plans were in making for quite some time.

Lynette Howell, a co-producer of the Oscars, explained:

So we reached out [to Eminem] to see if that was something he might want to be involved in. He said yes. We’ve been holding onto it for a while. It was nice that we surprised people – we don’t usually get to surprise anybody in this day and age!

That is true, the Oscars are not that popular as they used to be. 2020 ceremony had the lowest TV ratings and the top trending moment from the 92nd Academy Awards was – you guessed it – Eminem’s performance.
