This week we’ve got a new short interview with Eminem published in Abu Dhabi on the eve of his long-anticipated show and a long-detailed conversation with Kanye West, who is not leaving the front pages with constant delays of his new album release.
From Kanye’s interview we have learned that he believes that seeing a Playboy magazine when he was 5 years-old made him a sex-addict, that he asked his collaborators on the mysterious still yet-to-come album to fast and pray together, that he is still planning to become the president of the United States and at the same time in 20 years he sees himself strictly serving God and only working with the sole purpose of benefiting the church.
Billboard has retold this interview in detail here. It is rich material to contrast and compare with the recent messages from Eminem. However, one of the aspects was the most striking. Remember when Eminem said that he does not think of himself as the Greatest overall, but knows that he is great at something when others are great at something else and that he is proud to be seen on level with other rap artists he respects? You do not expect the same level of thoughtfulness from Kanye and you are right. This is what Kanye has to say on this matter:
I am unquestionably, undoubtedly, the greatest human artist of all time. It’s not even a question at this point. It’s just a fact.
It seems like practising his Christian values Kanye forgot to exercise his humility.
