Being raised by one of the most famous rappers on the planet gave Hailie Jade a unique perspective. But now that she’s a mom herself, she says she finally understands what her father, Eminem, was really going through.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Hailie shared how becoming a parent to baby Elliot has brought her new insight into the challenges her dad faced. “Over time, I’ve come to understand the struggle my father faced — wanting to protect our privacy while also feeling proud and wanting to celebrate his kids”, she said.
These days, Hailie is finding her own balance between sharing joyful moments and keeping certain aspects of her life private for the sake of her family. She filmed her new YouTube renovation series, “Just a Little Reno”, while pregnant and now juggles content creation and parenthood with her husband, Evan McClintock.
Eminem has long spoken about how fatherhood changed him, and now Hailie says she gets it. “It’s not just about being proud, it’s about being present”, she reflects. “And now I really see what he meant”.
