On his US tour, IShowSpeed has been bumping Eminem tracks, shouting him out on streams, and ranking him as his No.1.

IShowSpeed is no stranger to dreaming big and even less of a stranger to making those dreams come true. From streaming to two viewers at age 12 to building an audience of more than 40 million, the 20-year-old has gone from bedroom beginnings to UEFA partnerships and viral moments with global sports icons.

Now touring the US, Speed has been showing plenty of love to Eminem. Over the weekend, he stopped in Detroit, cruised through Marshall Mathers’s old stomping ground, rapped his songs in the car, and blasted Em’s music in the street.

The following day in Chicago, he dropped by Lyrical Lemonade HQ to record a freestyle for Cole Bennett’s series. Bennett, of course, is the director behind Eminem’s recent visuals, from “Godzilla” to “Tron”. During the visit, a correspondent asked Speed which five rappers he could listen to for the rest of his life. Without hesitation, his first pick was Eminem, followed by Kanye West. Drake, J. Cole, and Tyler, the Creator rounded out the list.

It is no secret that Slim Shady sits at the top of Speed’s personal pantheon. He often raps along to Em’s hits with fans and mentions him on streams. He even slid into Eminem’s DMs asking for a callback. His fandom is just as persistent, regularly urging him to make it happen and spamming calls for a collab.

I’mma get that soon”, Speed told viewers some time ago. “I’mma get an Eminem stream, don’t worry”.

One might find this promise overly confident, but Speed has a track record of making wild goals come true. What really stands out here is the reminder of Eminem’s ongoing influence. For a new generation, Slim Shady is not a relic but a go-to name, the one they recognise and respect.

Relevance is reflected not in hashtags but in impact. And for millions of young fans like IShowSpeed, Eminem clearly has it.
