An admin’s joke turned into a show of solidarity and love to Eminem from four Formula 1 teams.
The Mercedes AMG F1 Twitter account posted a picture of a team member marking tyres. His position probably reminded admin of Em’s cult music video, so they captioned it with a short nod to it: “Dear Slim” and a writing hand emoji.
The reference was immediately recognised by rival teams. However, this time they did not compete but proceeded to carry a tune in harmony. Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team, Williams Racing and Alpine F1 Team came together trading lines from Eminem classic hit.
It is not the first time Formula 1 social media account shows love to Marshall. Earlier this year, the McLaren Twitter account excitedly cited “Lose Yourself” while Daniel Ricciardo was racing to victory at the Italian Grand Prix.
