Renowned Drum & Bass MC Harry Shotta has shocked the world by breaking Eminem’s world record for most words in a song. While not officially recognized yet, Shotta shattered the record set by Eminem’s “Rap God” (1560 words) on his song “Animal” by 200 words (1771 words).
The six-minute song is actually very similar in pace and sound with “Rap God,” as Shotta’s rapid fire delivery shares a lot in common with Eminem’s. Even with the similarities, it’s very noticeable that there’s a lot going on in the song (and video).
Shotta explained the process to UKF, and said that “The process is a long-winded one but we know the word count is more than Eminem and hopefully they’ll recognize that.” Even though he is confident in breaking the record, Shotta also said that there is no beef with Eminem and added that “This is purely about pushing our art and having some fun.” Hopefully the record becomes official soon, so it’ll give Eminem a reason to come out of hiding to break it again.
