Eminem on Upcoming Superbowl Halftime Show: “I just Hope We All Remember Our Lyrics and Don’t Fuck It Up”

Recently Eminem was interviewed by Sway, during which a lot of interesting facts and confessions were shared by the rapper.

First of all, Em confessed to being excited not because Al Michaels is doing the game (he is a huge fan of Al Michaels), but also to perform next to such hip-hop legends on the stage during one of the greatest shows: “It’s gonna be good, man. I think it’s great for the culture too. I don’t want to give anything away, but when Dre first asked, when the whole thing started going down, I was trying to envision what Dre might do. I was thinking all of us are gonna rap together, right, but I didn’t expect the production to be like this. I was kind of blown away when the first time I’ve seen it, I haven’t seen it ‘till the first rehearsal, like I didn’t really know… Like once you see it, this is different”.

Also, Em talked about his favorite Halftime shows of previous years: “Beyoncé fuckin’ destroyed that shit. Prince.. You know what’s crazy, I can’t remember the Superbowls unless somebody tells me. We’re trying to [kill it], of course, we’re trying to, I mean, I just hope we all remember our lyrics and don’t fuck it up”.

Em also talked about being nervous for the show: “It’s fuckin’ nerve-wracking. There is nothing more final than live TV, you know what I’m saying. If you fuck up, your fuck up is there forever. I think it’s gonna be something that people probably have not seen before. Or have seen it, but not on this level. Just the whole show, the artists that are on it”.

As tradition demands, they discussed Eminem’s Top 5 rap artists, different hip-hop generations, collaborations and his colleagues: “Kendrick is at the very top tier of the lyricists, not just of this generation but of all time. Snoop Dogg, it’s great that he made himself still be relevant till these days, it’s incredible, since 1991-1992. Me and Snoop, we are good, we talked months ago, right? Yeah. We just set up peace”.

Right at the end of the interview, in response to the question about Mary J. and their potential joint, Em said: “I’m always working on something. And when I’m done working on it, then we used to put it out”.
